The Chinese government has blocked Avast – Onet.pl

China for several years leading a trade war with the West, which also applies to computers and the Internet. In the Middle Kingdom, among others, have long blocked Google, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the operating system Microsoft has been working on computers banned in the administration.

Now the group of companies also joined blocked Avast, one of the largest producers of anti-virus software that worldwide has more than 220 million users. This is obviously not a coincidence, but rather a deliberate action of the Chinese government, which has removed the last year Kaspersky Lab products companies and Symantec from the list of approved software for government computers, which means that officials can no longer use them.

Now those same measures have been taken to Avast company. Unofficially, it is said that the reason for this decision is related to VPN services that allow Chinese citizens to enter the pages blocked by government bodies, which are built into the software of the company. It is also suggested that the manufacturer of the Chinese government refused to provide the source code of its product, which is an action incompatible with the new rules, which recently entered into force and there may therefore be blocked.

It can not be ruled out that Avast has a lock to protect their own market and consumer confidence to use the software local businesses.
