Holes in software Tesla – Republic

Source: Bloomberg

Software Modell car Tesla S is so “full of holes” that hackers can easily gain access to the computer in the car. Can do with it virtually anything, even when it moves.

The two specialists broke into the computer Modell S. They managed to remotely start and stop the car. “Financial Times” writes that in the beginning they had every right to connect a cable from the car, which theoretically is not possible, because hackers are working remotely.

One of the specialists, Marc Rogers of the company Cloudflare told the FT that failed him to stop the car at “relatively low speed”. He also tried to remotely start the handbrake on “high speed” but he did not succeed. With the Tesla test updated software and informed its clients to download the new version.

Computer scientists have found a total of six “holes” in the software Tesla, which has already been repaired. The system tests lasted for a total of 12 months. In its final report, they wrote that Tesla needs to focus on strengthening individual security systems. On the other hand, they found that driving a car Tesla felt safer than in any other vehicle equipped with a built-in Internet access or WLAN.
