Plextor, a manufacturer of storage solutions, has released the third-generation technology PlexTurbo. Thanks to SSDs can be even more durable and more efficient.
PlexTurbo is a free solution developed by Plextor engineers with the aim of enhancing the ability of SSDs. Useful especially for drives using popular standard SATA 6 Gb / s, where the maximum bandwidth of the interface is limited to approx. 570 MB / s.
PlexTurbo technology uses the free resources of RAM for caching data, thus optimizing the work of the SSD. She made her debut with the model Plextor M6 PRO autumn of 2014. Currently also supports other models of the brand Plextor SSD. Is also available for the latest, inexpensive model M6V.
PlexTurbo 3.0 extends the capabilities of previous generations of the software with additional features. Among them are m.in .: support more than one SSD and support for more RAM. In the third generation of software, the user is also able to self-storage resource allocation for PlexTurbo. It can be a maximum of 1 GB of RAM for model M6V by 4 GB in M6S for up to 16 GB for M6 PRO and drives M6e series. Ultimately, buffer size depends on the amount of available free RAM.
Together with a new installment of PlexTurbo, users of selected brand Plextor SSDs can also use the software PlexCompressor and PlexVault. The first program offers intelligent data compression, which translates into a limitation of space used on the SSD for games and applications. The second allows you to store sensitive data in a hidden partition protected against access by unauthorized persons.
