The German company Bosch delivered in 2007. Volkswagen concern software for falsifying the results of testing the toxicity of diesel exhaust, but warned that the installation of the serial will be illegal – said in a Sunday newspaper “Bild”.
 

According to the high-volume “Bild”, referring to the documents Bosch, the software was to be used only for the purposes of “internal factory test” and not to “normal operation”.

Official claims that Volkswagen, despite this warning, began to install the software in mass-produced cars with diesel engines. Cars with this software underwent successful interim technical research, but in daily operation emit many times more pollutants than permitted by law.

The US authorities revealed last Friday that Volkswagen is suspected by the US Federal Environmental Protection Agency ( The EPA) for manipulating the measurement of exhaust from diesel engines, which can mean huge fines for the manufacturer.

On Tuesday the company acknowledged that challenged the EPA software was installed in his car outside the US. It may be in approx. 11 million vehicles around the world (including Poland).



The new government

At the head of the group stood former head of the company – the daughter of the Volkswagen – Porsche, Matthias Mueller. The former president of Volkswagen, Martin Winterkorn resigned emphasizing that takes responsibility for irregularities and persists in the interest of the company. He maintained, however, that he does not have nothing to complain about.

European Commission urged all EU countries to conduct national investigations aiming to determine the scale of the problem.
